ISKCON & Delhi govt launch helpline to support people in distress

The entire world is going through distress due to Covid-19. Everyone facing tough time and seeking some support to have eternal peace and strength, to help & support people in distress, ISKCON Delhi & Delhi Government launched a 24X7 Counseling Sewa helpline no. 9971766666 to support and counsel individuals on their problems.

World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the outbreak of the Novel Corona Virus as a Pandemic and due to this, there has been nationwide lockdown. DM South West Rahul Singh has said, “To ensure mental wellness of people, the District Administration of District South West in association with ISKCON Dwarka has launched a helpline for spiritual counseling and mental health of the people to deal with the stressful situation created due to spread of COVID-19. The helpline number is 9971766666. For this, more than 1000 expert counselors have been appointed for counseling in most of the language of the world.”

Piyoosh Goyal (Pradyumna Priya Das), Chairman ISKCON Food Relief Foundation said, “People are anxious because of lack of resources, uncertainties, an overload of information about coronavirus. Youths are struggling with career insecurity, irritability, pessimism; distressed housewives frustrated due to overwork and fights; the elderly are facing a lack of help and abused by other members of the family; parents are frustrated due to uncontrolled behavior of children, the list is long. ISKCON Temple, Sector-13 Dwarka Delhi is counseling youths, families, senior citizens, and over 50,000 members are associated with us. These days our members are experiencing peace and joy.”

The helpline shall be operated every day 24X7 including weekends by a team trained counselors. The counselors ensure the anonymity and privacy of information received from the caller.

ISKCON Delhi is State Level Mother NGO and has fed 5 Lac needy daily during the lockdown. They are recognized by India Book of Records also for their contribution to feed a maximum of 511,600 meals during the lockdown.
